Two University of New Mexico senior men’s soccer players have been invited to participate in the 2005 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine on January 9-11, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Hans Bevers and Jeff Krause are two of 66 collegiate seniors who will take part in double-headers in front of MLS coaches at the combine in preparation for the 2005 MLS SuperDraft on January 14 in Baltimore, Md.
Krause transferred to UNM following his sophomore season at Pittsburgh and was a two-year starter for the Lobos. This season he scored two goals and had three assists while starting 19 of 20 games at midfield. The Littleton, Colo., native also earned honorable mention All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors for UNM this season.
Bevers transferred to New Mexico from the University of Antwerp in Antwerp, Belgium, for his senior season and made a huge impact. He came off the bench in every game and led the Lobos and the MPSF with eight assists on the year. He also scored a pair of goals and was honorable mention All-MPSF in his only season in a Lobo uniform.

Krause and Bevers are the first two Lobos to be invited to the MLS Combine in school history. The former Lobos have played in the MLS, including Edmundo Rodriguez (1991-92; NY/NJ MetroStars – 1996; Kansas City Wizards – 1997-98), Richard Farrer (1990-92; Dallas Burn – 1996-2001) and Justin Sells (1994-97; San Jose Clash – 1998).
