New Mexico Head Coach Ritchie McKay:
“I was really pleased with our offensive effort tonight. We were really efficient and did a nice job of executing our game plan. When you have a player like Danny Granger, he has a match-up that commands a double team every night. Consequently, all five guys on the floor have an equal chance on scoring. If you end up guarding us one on one on the post, we believe we’re going to have a good chance of success. Defensively, I thought our guys did a great job. Hopefully we can have a similar performance on Saturday.
“I think we’re a very balanced team. This group has a lot of character. I feel like we have the athletes and we have the depth. We get so many shots in the paint this year, which is completely different from last year.
“I’m sure the Aggies are going to come out very motivated in Las Cruces on Saturday. I think they gained some confidence on how effectively they scored after the first 10 minutes of the game. I expect a completely different game on Saturday.”
