ROCKY FACE, Ga. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team struggled in the second round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate and fell to fourth place. The Lobos shot a 14-over par, 302, on the 7,010 yard par-72 Farm Golf Club and is 21-over par for the tournament. Georgia remains in the lead at 11-over par, 10-strokes better than the Lobos.

Senior Jay Reynolds led the team in the second round with a 1-over par 73. Reynolds is currently tied for 37th at 8-over par (79-73=152). The overall leader for the Lobos is senior Madalitso Muthiya who is tied for third at even par (70-74=144). Other UNM results are junior Jay Choi is tied for 16th at 6-over par (72-78=150), junior Spencer Levin is tied for 29th at 7-over par (74-77=151) and senior Miguel Griego is tied for 81st at 18-over par (83-79=162).

The final round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate is tomorrow with tee times beginning at 6:00 a.m. (MDT). New Mexico is scheduled to tee off at 6:45 a.m. For full results and live scoring go to www.golfstat.com.
