The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team returns home this weekend for the Airport University Inn Tournament. The Lobos will open their home schedule on Friday night against Missouri at approximately 8:15 p.m. at The Pit. In the first game of the tournament Gonzaga and Providence will square off at 6:00 p.m. UNM enters Friday’s game with a 2-0 record, while Missouri is 1-1. The tournament will continue on Saturady with the losers meeting at 6:00 p.m. and the winners will follow.

TONIGHT’S GAME:Tonight’s game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico against the Tiger of the University of Missouri in the first round of the Airport University Inn Thanksgiving Tournament. In the first game of the tournament Gonzaga and Providence will meet at 6:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS:The Lobos enter tonight’s game with a 2-0 record after road victories at New Mexico State (57-44) and Missouri (60-56). New Mexico’s leading scorer on the season is sophomore Katie Montgomery with 11.5 ppg, while senior Lindsey Arndt leads the team in rebounding with 7.0 rpg. UNM also went 2-0 in the exhibition portion of their schedule with wins over the West Coast All-Stars and NWBL Elite.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS:Missouri brings a 1-1 record into tonight’s game with a win over Northern Illinois (68-61) and a loss at Iowa (75-54). The Tigers are led in scoring by LaToya Bond who is averaging 19.5 ppg., while EeTisha Riddle leads them in rebounding at 5.5 ppg.

THE COACHES:UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 10th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 193-89 at UNM. The Tigers are led by Cindy Stein who is in her eighth season at Missouri and 11th season overall. Stein is 102-80 at Missouri and 167-105 overall.
