Hey Lobo fans, IT’S TIME TO HOWL. The annual basketball Lobo Howl is officially set for Saturday, October 16, from 4-9 p.m. at The Pit. Come help us tip-off the 2004-05 New Mexico men’s and women’s basketball seasons with an exciting night of fast pace scrimmages, three-point shooting exhibitions and a high-flying slam dunk contest. Admission is free and concessions will be available throughout the event that will also include an autograph session with both teams.
Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and will mark the beginning of the National Anthem auditions and the annual Select-a-Seat. These events will run until 6:00 p.m. During the evening there will be a raffle for an autographed men’s and women’s practice jersey to be given away at the end of the Howl.
Time slots are still available for anyone interested in trying out to sing the Star Spangled Banner at selected men’s and women’s home games. Those interested in auditioning should contact the Lobo marketing department at (505) 925-5014 to guarantee a spot.
The Select-a-Seat event will give fans an opportunity to hand-pick their season tickets for either men’s or women’s basketball. Those purchasing season tickets at the Select-a-Seat event will receive an NCAA mini-ball autographed by either men’s head coach Ritchie McKay or women’s head coach Don Flanagan.
The women’s Lobo Howl officially beings at 7:00 p.m. with introductions by Coach Flanagan. The women will participate in practice/warm-up drills, two 10-minute scrimmages and a three-point shooting contest.
The men’s Lobo Howl follows at 8:00 p.m. when Coach McKay addresses the fans. The men’s squad will also take part in practice/warm-up drills and a pair of 10-minute scrimmages. The night will be capped off by the men’s slam dunk contest.

This will be everyone’s first opportunity to see the 2004-05 edition of the Lobo men’s and women’s basketball teams, so be sure to mark you calendars and don’t miss out on a great night of Lobo basketball.
