The 14th-ranked New Mexico women’s golf team is in fourth place at the Landfall Tradition after shooting a 9-over 287 as a team in Friday’s first round. No. 12 Tennessee leads the tournament, which is being held at the par-72, 6,034-yard Jack Nicklaus Course at the Landfall Country Club, with a 3-over 291.

Sophomore Ashley Rollins equaled her best round of the season with a 1-under 71 (36-35). Rollins is tied for third, four shots behind Marci Tuner of Tennessee, who shot a 5-under 67.

Senior Kailin Downs is tied for 11th with a 1-over 73 (37-36), and senior Christina Spence is tied for 20th with a 3-over 75 (39-36). Junior Christine Fernandez carded a 6-over 78 (37-41) to sit in a tie for 44th place, while redshirt freshman Giselle Claux is tied for 51st with an 8-over 80 (38-42).

Round two of the Landfall Tradition continues Saturday morning. The Lobos tee off at 10:42 a.m. ET.
