COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Junior Spencer Levin was named Mountain West Conference Men’sGolfer of the Month for October, collecting the award for the secondstraight time. Levin won the September award after capturing medalisthonors at the Topy Cup in Japan with an 11-under 205. For the month ofOctober, Levin tied for first and finished second in two tournamentappearances, while carding six consecutive rounds under-par. Each ofhis three single round scores of 65 during the month tie for theninth-best round in UNM history.
Levin opened the month with a second-place finish at the William H.Tucker Inviational in Albuquerque, N.M., Oct. 1-2. His three day totalof nine-under 207 (71-65-71) on the par 72, Championship Course was twoshots off medalist honors and helped the Lobos to a second-place finish.At the Nelson Invitational in Stanford, Calif., Oct. 22-24, Levin tiedfor the individual crown after setting a school record with a 54-holetotal of nine-under 198 (65-65-68) on the par 69, 6,444-yard StanfordGolf Course. Levin was also part of the school record 54-hole teamscore of 830 that captured the team title by five strokes over fellowMWC member UNLV.
Levin lowered his stroke average by 0.89 in October and currently leadsthe MWC with a 67.78 stroke average.
