Tulsa, Okla. – New Mexico tennis players Maja Kovacek and Iva Gersic fell out of competition today at the Wilson/ITA Region V Championships after losing their singles matches in the semifinal round and their doubles match in the quarterfinals.
Both players had excellent runs in the singles competition of the regional championships as they made it to the semifinals out of a starting round of 64. In doubles play, the tandem also showed great talent against top teams to make it all the way to the doubles quarterfinals.
Next up for the Lobo duo is the ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships November 4-7 in Ann Arbor, Mich. where the two will compete as a team in the doubles portion of the national event.
