CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Seniors David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland have stormed their way into the semifinals of the ICY HOT/ITA All-American Main Draw in Chattanooga, Tenn. after knocking off the nation’s top-ranked and sixth-ranked doubles team.

Starting off the day with a bang, Stotland and Kowalski handed last year’s NCAA doubles champions, Stanford’s Sam Warburg and KC Corkery, an 8-5 loss in the Round of 16. In the Quarterfinal Round, the Lobo tandem struck again, beating the 18th-ranked Patrick Briaud and Conor Niland of California, 8-6.

With the win, Stotland and Kowalski move into the semifinals and win or lose, have an automatic bid to the ITA National Individual Indoor Championships Nov. 4-7.

The duo’s semifinal match will be played against 11th-ranked John Isner and Antonio Ruiz of Georgia or Illinois’ 17th-ranked Ryler DeHeart and GD Jones. A time has not been set.
