CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The 24th-ranked duo of seniors Ryan Stotland and David Kowalski cruised into the Round of 16 at the ICY HOT/ITA All-American Qualifying Tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn. with their 8-3 win over Louisville’s Jeremy Clark and Damar Johnson. Stotland and Kowalski, seeded third, will play ninth-seeded Nathan Thompson and Brett Twente of Clemson. Thompson is ranked 27th nationally in singles and 33rd in doubles when paired with Sander Koning.
In singles, Kowalski and freshman Max Jones both fell in the Round of 64. SMU’s Peter Oredsson bested Kowalski 6-3, 6-3 while Alabama’s Luigi D’Agord ended Jones magnificant run, 6-4, 6-0.
