Sept. 15, 2004

Lobo Fans: Extend your visit to the City of Las Cruces on the weekend of the Lobos- Aggies football game, September 25, and join the fun at the 24th Annual Whole Enchilada Fiesta. This three-day fiesta is recognized as one of the premier statewide events and will be featured on “All-American Festivals,” which airs on the Food Network.

Each year, Las Crucens join together in making the world’s largest enchilada as noted in the Guinness Book of World Records. Throughout the weekend other activities include: nationally known entertainers, local musicians and artists, multi-food and craft vendors and numerous activities for children. Admission to the Fiesta is free with the exception of the Fiesta Garden, where alcohol is served, and other selected events.

This year, Friday night entertainment headliners are country music artists Lane Turner and Blackhawk. On Saturday night, Albuquerque’s musician Matthew Martinez y Revoluccion will open for the well-known Tejano musical group Latin Breed. On Sunday afternoon, musician and Albuquerque native Tobias Rene will perform. For more Fiesta information and to view this year’s schedule of events, visit the Fiesta’s official website, www.twefie.com, or contact the Fiesta’s main office at 505/526-1938.
