HOUSTON, TEXAS – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team is currently in 12th place after the first round of the 18-team Hall of Fame Invitational in Houston, Texas. The Lobos shot an opening round of 290 on the par-72, 7,352-yard Redstone Golf Club and trail team leader Arizona by 13 strokes.
Individually New Mexico was led by Jay Choi and Spencer Levin who both carded an even par round of 72 and are tied for 27th. Charlie Beljan and Madalitso Muthiya are tied for 36th at 1-over par and Jay Reynolds is tied for 76th at 5-over par.
The individual leader is Chris Nallen of Arizona who shot an opening round of 66 to lead Stephen Polanski of TCU by one stroke.
The Hall of Fame Invitational continues tomorrow with second round action beginning at 7:30 AM cst.
