LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team finished in 11th place at 15-over par (302-283-294=879) with a final round of 879 at the difficult Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship hosted by UNLV. Arizona State won the team championship with a 16-under par 848 (279-276-293=848) just two strokes in front of Florida.

Spencer Levin led the Lobos for the third consecutive tournament finishing 27th at 3-over par (75-67-77=219). Freshman Charlie Beljan moved up 11 spots to tie for 28th at 4-over par (76-72-72=220) with a final round of 72. Other Lobo scores were Ian Medlock tied for 32nd at 6-over par (75-72-75=222), tied for 40th was Jay Choi at 7-over par (76-77-70=223) and Jay Reynolds tied for 59th with a score of 228 (79-72-77).

Medalist honors went to Camilo Villegas of Florida who finished at 11-under par (67-69-69=205) to edge Bill Haas of Wake Forest at 10-under par (68-67-71=206).

The Lobos return to the course on March 19-21 at the Hall of Fame Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas
