Bruce Creel, Rudy Diaz, Don Duke, and Yvonne Moise are all well know names affiliated with the Lobo Club and athletic fundraising for the University of New Mexico. Throw in newcomers Linda Perkins, Susie Singer and Antoinette Baca, and the Lobo Club has the foundation for its most successful Membership Drive ever.
Led by Membership Drive Chair Duke, Co-Chair David Burt, Rookie Coordinator Moise and Team Captains Gene Ayala (Quality Paper & Plastics), Baca (SBS Technologies), Creel (Prudential Financial), Diaz, Bill Duffey (Albuquerque Public Schools), Michael Fietz (Compass Bank), Sharon Knowles (Coldwell Banker), Perkins (Bank of the West), Marv Schneider (Eddleman Industries), Singer (Premmco), and the duo of Pam Duke and Kathy Wilson, the Lobo Club will kick off its 2004-05 Membership Drive on Saturday, April 3rd as VIP guests at the Lobo Baseball game against BYU.
The group held their initial Leadership meeting Thursday evening in the Pete McDavid Lounge at The Pit to review changes and additions to Lobo Club benefits, establish goals for the Drive and discuss ways to increase the scope of the Lobo Club’s fundraising reach. “Rookies are the lifeblood of the Drive,” said Burt. “We need to recruit new volunteers who want to have fun and support the Lobos.
The term “rookie” refers to first year Membership Drive volunteers. Anyone can be a rookie and enjoy opportunities to meet coaches and student-athletes at Drive Report Sessions and earn great prizes while raising funds for athletic scholarships.
