The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released the All-Far West region team today and Lobo Brandon Moss was named to the second team. Moss is a sophomore defender from Albuquerque, who has emerged as one of the leaders on the Lobo men’s soccer team.

This season he played in 16 games and scored two assists. Moss played a major role in the Lobos turnaround over the last month of the season. He helped lead UNM to wins in five of their last six games, and come within a goal of returning to the NCAA Championships for the third straight season.

Moss gained plenty of recognition for his play this season being named to the Crescent Financial Solutions All-Tournament team, CollegeSoccerNews.com Nation team of the Week on November 2, 2003, 1st Team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, and the MPSF All-Tournament team. Moss was also named Academic All-District and Academic All-MPSF for his work in the classroom.

Moss is the ninth player in school history to be named to an all-region team, and the fourth in the last two years. Last season, Junro Narita garnered 1st team honors, while Andrew Weber and Lance Watson were named to the third team.
