The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Team Academic Award for having over a 3.0 cumulative grade-point-average. The Lobos 3.23 overall team g.p.a. was the highest in the program’s history and their hard work in the classroom continues to bring in recognition.
So far this season, a school record six Lobos were named to the CoSIDA District VI All-Academic team. Also, Ben Ashwill became the first Lobo since 1994 to earn Academic All-American honors. The Lobos could also have up to eight players on the Academic All-MPSF team that should come out in the next couple of weeks.
