Flagstaff, Ariz.– The University of New Mexico women’s swimming and diving team still look to post a win this season after falling to Northern Arizona 120-172 on Saturday Nov. 22 at the Wall Aquatic Center.
Sophomore Robyn Miller was the top swimmer for the Lobos, winning the gold in the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.67) and the 400-yard IM (4:33.17). Freshman Crystal Weiland followed with strong performances in the backstroke events. She had a first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.79) and a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.28).
In the diving events, junior Becca Barras won the gold in the 1-meter dive with a score of 245.70 and the silver in the 3-meter dive with a score of 270.53. Senior Tracey Berghian earned the silver in the 1-meter dive with 236.85 points and the bronze in the 3-meter dive with 256.05 points.
On Dec. 4-6, the UNM swim team travels to South Bend, Ind. for the Notre Dame Invitational while the diving squad will compete in Austin, Texas at the Texas Invitational.
