The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced its all-conference teams today, and the Lobos’ Brandon Moss was a first team selection. Moss has been a cornerstone of the Lobo defense for the past two seasons, earning 2nd Team All-MPSF honors in 2002. This year his solid play earned him a spot on the Crescent Financial Solutions Invitational All-Tournament team in September and on the CollegeSoccerNews.com National Team of the Week on November 3. UNLV senior Alex Hernendez and Air Force junior Marcus Sagastume earned co-player of the year awards.
The Lobos also landed three players on the MPSF 2nd Team, with senior Stian Eriksen, junior Andrew Weber, and sophomore Lance Watson getting the nod. It is the first all-conference award for Eriksen, who was a member of the 2002 MPSF All-Academic team. Weber earned his second all-conference honor after making the 1st team in 2002. Watson makes his second appearance in as many years on the MPSF 2nd Team. Sophomore forward Ben Ashwill earned honorable mention honors for his second All-MPSF recognition. He was a 1st Team member in 2002 when he led the conference in goals.
The Lobos head to Sacramento State for a semifinal match against either UNLV or Air Force on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. (M.S.T.). The Lobos are gunning for their third-straight MPSF Tournament title.
