Salt Lake City, Utah – Based on current fall results, the regional tennis committe has voted UNM to be the no. 2 seeded team to compete against regional competitors BYU (seeded no. 1), Oklahoma (seeded no. 3) and Denver (seeded no. 4) at the Regional Playoffs on Saturday, November 1 at the Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The playoff is to determine which regional team will represent the region at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championship held on February 6-8, 2004. BYU is scheduled to face Denver at 9:00 a.m., followed by UNM against Oklahoma. The two winners of the dual matches will play in a final round on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
Head coach Kathy Kolankiewicz was pleased by the playoff vote. “We are honored to be one of the four teams selected and thrilled that the regional committe seeded us no. 2,” said Kolankiewicz.
