Pacific Palisades, Calif. – Sophomore women’s tennis player Maja Kovacek advances in the consolation round at the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships after winning a tough three hour match against Georgia’s Shadisha Robinson.
In the first set, Kovacek won 7-5, but Robinson fought back in the second set with her own 7-5 victory. The third set was a close and grueling battle, but Kovacek stayed strong and won the set 7-6.
Kovacek continues tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. when she faces Gitte Ostermann of Nebraska.
