COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico center Jordan Adams was named Mountain West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, marking her eighth career award.

A 6-3 senior from Overton, Nev. (Moapa Valley HS), Adams helped the Lobos secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming EAS MWC Championship by averaging 17 points in wins over No. 25 Utah (51-48) and BYU (63-44) last week.

Adams tallied seven boards and nine points vs. Utah, including 4-of-4 free throws down the stretch to seal the win. She hit 10-of-14 shots vs. the Cougars for a game-high 25 points.

For the week, Adams shot 57.1 percent from the field (12-21), 66.7 percent from beyond the arc (2-3) and 88.9 percent from the charity stripe (8-9), while averaging 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.)
