The Lobos will play four of their last six games at home. Wyoming and Colorado State come into The Pit after having swept the Lobos earlier in the season. Last season UNM swept the Cowgirls and the Rams at home and are looking to do the same this year as the conference race gets that much tighter. The last time Wyoming defeated UNM at The Pit was in 1994-95 and CSU was a home spoiler in the 1997-98 season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: Wyoming is coming off a split of BYU and Utah last weekend. The Cowgirls defeated the Cougars, 66-59 and then lost to the Utes 70-59. Wyoming is off to their best start since Cindy Fisher took over the helm. Currently the Cowgirls are in third place in the league standings. Colorado State comes into The Pit fresh off an impressive 71-70 overtime victory of BYU. The Rams also defeated league-leader Utah 56-44, for the Utes first conference loss.

A MILE HIGH AND LOUDER THAN…: The Lobos begin their 12th season playing in one of the greatest home arenas in all of college basketball. UNM has an overall record of 122-66 (.649) in The Pit and are 50-33 in conference games (.602). Since Don Flanagan arrived on campus The Pit has welcomed the women’s basketball team with open arms. Since 1995, the Lobos are 108-31 (.777) overall and 44-11 (.800) in conference games.

SWEEP: The Lobos swept Wyoming and Colorado State last season at home. UNM defeated CSU 56-50 and Wyoming, 56-41. Earlier this season the Lobos were swept on the road at CSU and Wyoming.

REJECTION: The Lobos have 86 blocks on the season. Compared to this weeks opponents that’s over 40 more for the Lobos. For UNM every player on the team can say they have at least one block. Jordan Adams leads the Lobos with 48 blocks.

VERY SOPHOMORIC: Mandi Moore is making a name for herself in the MWC record books. She set the MWC sophomore record for assists in a game with 12 against Air Force and she continues to buildon her record-setting freshman performance from last season. Moore had a freshman record 146 assists last year and already has 143 this season. Moore has now set the single season MWC sophomore record.

DOUBLING UP: Jordan Adams has had one double-double this year while Chelsea Grear has had two. Grear’s latest double effort was against New Mexico State as she had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Mandi Moore has now joined the club as she had 16 points and 12 assists against Air Force.

HITTING THE BOARDS: The Lobos have proved dominating on the boards this season. UNM has grabbed 126 more rebounds then their opponents, averaging 41.0 to 35.0. Against Memphis the Lobos grabbed a season-high 57 rebounds.

CENTURY CLUB: Two current Lobos have played in over 100 games during their careers. Jordan Adams has played in 112 games and Chelsea Grear has played in 109. Cristal Garcia is closing in on the century mark, having seen action in 91 games.

ADAMS LEADING THE BLOCK PARTY: Jordan Adams has had at least one block in every game so far this year. Adams had a season-high six rejections against Louisiana Tech on Dec. 21. Adams enjoys blocking out those Air Force Falcons. For the past four years against Air Force, Adams has recorded 22 blocks, including a career-high eight blocks last season.

IT’S ALL ON THE BENCH: The Lobo bench is currently averaging 20.1 ppg and 12.3 rpg. Melissa Forest leads the UNM bench players with 161 pts. (7.1 ppg) and 93 rebounds (4.4 rpg).THREE-POINT THREAT: The Lobos have made at least one three-pointer in every game this season. Last season UNM shot 32% (132-407) from three-point land compared to this year’s 35% (123-357). Mandi Moore led the 2001-02 squad with 31 three-point shots and this season Cristal Garcia has already hit 24.

50% POWER: The Lobos have not had an opponent shoot over 50% this year. The highest field goal percentage an opponent has shot this year is 48% by CSU. The Lobos have shot over 50% four times this year and have post 40% or better in 12 games.

MORE 50% POWER: The Lobos have held their opponents to less than 50% from field goal range in 74 straight games. The last non-conference opponent to shot 50% or better against UNM was Oregon in 2000 and the last conference foe to shot over 50% was Colorado State in 2000.

SEASON RECORDS: The Lobos are currently ranked high in several team season records. With UNM’s 34.5 three-point field goal percentage the Lobos have the best percentage for a season. The Lobos are in third with 43.3 from field goal range, they are second in free throw percentage with 72.5, the 86 team blocks is fourth and the 371 assists is 10th.

FIRE STARTER: Mandi Moore is the only player on this year’s squad to have started every game for her career. Moore has started in 52 games.

DOUBLE-DIGITS: The Lobos have had eight games where they’ve recorded double-digit rebounding margins. In two games, UNM has grabbed 20 or more rebounds than their opponents.

MORE DOUBLE-DIGITS: The Lobos have been outrebounded only six times this season and only one opponent has made it a double-digit affair.

FAN SUPPORT: The Lobos posted their highest attendance of the year against UNLV with 18,018. It was the fourth sellout in the history of UNM women’s basketball. UNM is now 4th nationally, averaging 10,280 their highest average in school history.

SEASON ACCOLADES: Jordan Adams has been named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week twice already this year. She’s the only Lobo so far to receive the honor.

FIVE FOR THE DRIVE: The Lobos are going for their fifth 20-win season this year. The Lobos have had all four of their 20-win seasons under head coach Don Flanagan with their best ever record of 26-7 coming in Flanagan’s third year, 1997-98. The Lobos will need to win their next six games to get their 20th victory during the regular season.A
