Albuquerque, N.M. — UNM point guard Mandi Moore scored 16 points and dished out a career-high 12 assists in leading the Lobos easily past visiting Air Force, 93-57 in front of 13,350 fans, the highest fan total this year.

All five of New Mexico’s starters finished with double figure points, as the Lobos (11-3, 1-0 Mountain West Conference) jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back to earn their first conference victory of the year.

Lindsey Arndt had six of her 11 total points before four minutes had elapsed, which aided the Lobos to a quick 15-5 advantage. New Mexico increased its lead to 25-9 on a Chelsea Grear fast break deuce with 11:02 remaining in the first half, but the Lobos were only halfway done.

Jordan Adams got into the act, scoring eight of her 15 points in the latter half of the period and Air Force (6-8, 0-1 MWC) just couldn’t seem to get unhitched.

The Lobos led 50-34 at the half then then went on a 21-9 tear to begin the second half behind 3-pointers by Arndt, Cristal Garcia and Adams, and the rout had commenced.

UNM took its biggest lead of the game at 77-46, then upped it to 89-52 before securing the final margin of victory.

Grear and Garcia had 11 and 15 points, consecutively as all five of New Mexico’s starters had double figure points for the first time in more than a year. The 93 points were the most by the Lobos since they scored 98 against UTEP on Nov. 23, 2001 and their 23-of-27 (.852) performance from the charity stripe was their best this season.

New Mexico hits the road to face Colorado State Thursday, Jan. 18 and Wyoming Saturday, Jan. 20. The Lobos are 2-2 on the road this season.
