Albuquerque, N.M. Freshmen Ben Ashwill and Brandon Moss scored two more postseason awards for the Lobo mens soccer team today by being named to the CollegeSoccerNews.com All-Freshmen team. Ashwill, who led the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with 12 goals, made the 2nd team as a forward while Moss was a third team defender.
Ashwill was the first ever Lobo freshman to lead the team in goals scored and total points (27). Moss led a stingy Lobo defense that gave up just 0.89 goals-per-game which ranked 21st in the nation. Moss also led New Mexico with 2,025 minutes played. Ashwill and Moss also helped guided a young Lobo squad to its second straight MPSF Tournament Title and another appearance in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. They make up two of the nine returning starters for the Lobos in 2003 which will still only consist of two seniors.
