SCOUTING THE LADY TECHSTERS: Louisiana Tech is coming off an 80-44 victory over Stephen F. Austin. The Lady Techsters are currently 6-2 and have been ranked in every poll this year. Currently they are #17 in poll and #19 in another.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE: Jordan Adams got her first double-double of the year, eighth of her career against Memphis. She racked up 30 points (tying her career-high) and had 10 boards.

YOU CANT BEAT HER: Jordan Adams 30 points against Memphis was the second time in her career she has nailed that many shots. The only other current player to come close to Adams mark has been Chelsea Grear who scored 24 last season and a career-high 26 this season.

STRAIGHT UP: Jordan Adams has now scored in double-figures in five straight games. Last season she had a streak of 17 games scoring in double-digits.

DISHING IT OUT: Mandi Moore has racked up 77 dishes this season, 7.7 a game. Shes had six games this season where shes recorded eight or more assists. Mandi is now in 9th place in UNMs career list for her 223 assists.

CLEANING THE GLASS: The Lobos have proved dominating on the boards this season. UNM has grabbed 108 more rebounds then their opponents, averaging 44.2 to 33.4. Against Memphis the Lobos grabbed a season-high 57 rebounds.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Lobos have won eight straight games at home this season, their only two losses have come on the road. The Lobos longest winning streak at home was 24 games from Jan., 1998 to March 1999.

GIVE ME A HAND: The Lobos have dished out 73 (201-128) more assists than their opponents. The only games where the opponent has had more assists has been in the Lobos two losses.

THATS TWICE: Thanks to Jordan Adams 52-point against Dartmouth and Memphis she was chosen the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week. Adams shot 67% for the two games (21-33) with 19 rebounds, eight assists and six blocks.

TAKE TWO: The Lobos seem to do most of their scoring in the second half. Currently UNM is scoring 116 more points than their opponents in the second half. The Lobos are averaging 40.0 points in the second stanza and holding their opponents to 28.4 points.

BLOCK PARTY: Jordan Adams has had at least one block in every game so far this year. The Lobos have 39 blocks on the season compared to their opponents 15. Seven UNM players have recorded one or more blocks and two players have more than one. Adams had a season-high five rejections in the win over Texas and now has 21 on the season.GOING FOR FIVE: The Lobos are going for their fifth 20-win season this year. The Lobos have had all four of their 20-win seasons under head coach Don Flanagan with their best ever record of 26-7 coming in Flanagans third year, 1997-98.

WE SCORE MORE THAN YOU DO: The Lobos averaged 65.8 points per game last year and held their opponents to 57.0 ppg. This year, New Mexico is averaging 73.2 ppg and their opponents are at 56.6. Six of UNMs eight wins have them scoring 73 or more points.

MORE MANDI: Mandi Moore led the team in minutes last season averaging 32.5. This season Moore has played the most minutes on the team at 345 minutes, 34.5 mpg. Moore is the only player this year to play an entire game, shes done it twice.

SIZE MATTERS: The Lobos have seven players on their roster that are 60 or taller. The starting five last season averaged 510.6. The three incoming freshman average 60.3. Jordan Adams and Jana Francis are the two tallest on the roster at 63.

D MINUS: The Lobos have ranked in the top-25 final NCAA statistics for defense since Coach Flanagan came on board. Last season the Lobos were ranked in field goal percentage defense and scoring defense. This season the Lobos have held their opponents to 34% from field goal range and only 56.6 points a game.

D-FENCE: UNM has outrebounded their opponent defensively in all games this year. Currently UNM has 307 defensive boards to their opponents 215. The Lobos have outrebounded their opponents, 442-334.

NOT BAD, FOR STARTERS: New Mexico returns four starters from the 2001-02 season (Mandi Moore, Jordan Adams, Lindsey Arndt and Chelsea Grear).

RANKINGS, SCHMANKINGS: The Lobos are 1-1 this year against ranked opponents and are 3-4 in the last two years. UNM defeated then no.16/17 Texas earlier this season, 77-70 and lost to no. 23/24 Arizona. UNM received their first ever ranking this week as they were picked no. 25 by the ESPN/USA Today/WBCA Coaches poll.

AN MVP PERFORMANCE: Jordan Adams was given MVP honors for the Southwest Airlines Lobo Shootout. Chelsea Grear and Abbie Letz were both named to the All-Tournament Team. In UNMs other home tournament, the Holiday Inn Mountain View Invitational, Melissa Forest was given MVP honors with Jordan Adams and Cristal Garcia chosen for the All-Tournament team.

A MILE HIGH AND LOUDER THAN…: The Lobos begin their 12th season playing in one of the greatest home arenas in all of college basketball. UNM has an overall record of 118-61 (.659) in The Pit and are 48-31 in conference games (.607). Since Don Flanagan arrived on campus The Pit has welcomed the womens basketball team with open arms. Since 1995, the Lobos are 104-23 (.818) overall and 42-9 (.823) in conference games.

TOP OF HER CLASS: Lobo senior, Jordan Adams has been chosen a nominee for the Senior CLASS Award. The award started last season and the first womens honoree was Sue Bird. Ten finalists will be determined in early February. The names of the finalists will appear on an official ballot during March. The national winner will be determined by three different panels of voters; a fan balloting opportunity, a national media committee and a committee of Division I coaches.

WATCHING JORDAN: Jordan Adams became the sixth player in UNM history to score 1,000 points last season and she has moved into fourth place overall. Adams is already the womens all-time shot blocker but she is also looking to become the schools all-time shot blocker, surpassing Luc Longley of the mens team.
