ALBUQUERQUE, NM The University of New Mexico women’s swimming and diving won all three of their head-to-head competitions yesterday.
In the first meet against BYU the Lobos defeated the Cougars 131 to 112. In the second dual meet UNM defeated Northern Arizona 144 to 99 and in the third dual meet it was UNM 140.5 and San Diego State 110.5.
Nicole Overeem continues to dominate for the Lobos winning two events on the day. She grabbed the top spot in the 1000 yard free with a time of 10:33.99 and in the 500 yard free with a time 5:11.77.
Myra Will and Kelsey Leckovic also garnered top spots in their swimming events. Will was first in 50 yard free with a time of 24.03 and Leckovic was in the top spot of the 100 yard free with a time 52.89.
The Lobos also dominated on the boards as Tracey Berghian and Becca Barras grabbed first place finishes in the three meter and one meter diving events respectively.
The Lobos will be back in action today as they host the Lobo Invitational. San Diego State, BYU, New Mexico State, Metro State and Northern Colorado will all be participating in the two-day invitational.
