Women’s Diving: UNM’s Barras and Berghian Finish 2-3 At ASU Diving Dual

Tempe, Ariz. – Sophomore Becca Barras (Kitchener, Ontario) and Junior Tracey Berghian (Phoenix, Ariz.) combined in the ASU diving dual this afternoon to give New Mexico seven points and a second place finish behind host ASU who had 12. The dual event featured divers from both schools competing on a combined six dives from the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform.

Barras finished in second place with a score of 271. 50. Berghian was close behind in the third spot with a combined point total of 233.78. Freshman Kaley Knafelc, in her first outing for the Lobos, completed the event with a score of 157.20 which put her in seventh place.

ASU divers finished first, fourth, fifth and sixth. The top finisher in the event was sophomore transfer Trisha Tumlinson who has a score of 319.50.

The Lobo swimming and diving team is back in action Thursday, Oct. 17 when it travels to Wyoming to face the Cowgirls. Following that, New Mexico will compete in the Early Bird Invite in Fort Collins, Colo., Oct 18-19.
