Women’s Swimming and Diving: UNM Picked To Finish Fifth In Mountain West Conference

Colorado Springs, Colo– The University of New Mexico women’s swimming and diving team was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West Conference in a vote today by the leagues coaches.

BYU was selected to finish first for the fourth year in a row with forty-seven total points and six first-place votes. Colorado State received forty points and one first place vote to finish in second place behind the Cougars. UNLV (39 points) was a close third followed by Utah (34), New Mexico (19), and San Diego State (17). Rounding out the preseason poll was Air Force in seventh place with 16 votes and Wyoming in eighth with 12.

The UNM swimming and diving team finished last season in sixth place and had a breakout performance at the MWC Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla., breaking seven school records, including three relay and four individual times.i
