Albuquerque — The University of New Mexico Lobos spotted visiting Texas Tech a 28-0 halftime lead, and the Red Raiders added 21 second half points as the Lobos were shut out for the first time in 111 games. In front of an ESPN2 audience and 35,111 in attendance, Texas Tech quarterback Kliff Kingsbury threw for six touchdowns before being replaced by backup B.J. Symons in the fourth quarter. UNM quarterback Casey Kelly fractured his left forearm late in the first quarter, and he was replaced by senior Justin Millea in the second half after completing six of 14 passing attempts for 53 yards.
