Albuquerque, NM—The Oregon State Beavers were clearly the most rested team on the floor today as they rolled past New Mexico, 77-61. Two OSU players had career-highs in the dominating victory in front of 8,533 fans at The Pit. This is the third game this week for the Lobos. UNM defeated Arizona early in the week and scored a huge victory over Texas Tech on Friday before matching up with Oregon State today. The Beavers even their record at 3-3 while the Lobos drop to 5-2.For the Beavers, Hollye Chapman and Leilani Estavan paced OSU and kept the Lobos guessing the entire first half. The duo combined for 35 points to take the Beavers into the locker room with a 42-34 advantage. Only one other OSU player scored in the first half, the rest of the team was 0-for-11 from the field. UNM outshot OSU in the first half, 54-46. The Lobos had the lead at 11:24 but the Beavers took control at 10:48 and led by as much as ten.It was all Oregon State in the second half as Chapman scored two of her four three-pointers in the opening minutes of play. OSU would outscore the Lobos 25-10 over the next 13 minutes to extend their lead to 21.For the Lobos, Molly McKinnon hit six free throws in the final three minutes to narrow the Beavers lead to 16. McKinnon would finish the game with 13 points, going 9-12 from the line.Jordan Adams led UNM with 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. OSU finished the game with a 45-40 advantage on the boards and shot 45%, compared to UNM’s 36%.The Lobos will take to the road next week to face the University of Texas on Thursday and Texas-San Antonio on Saturday.
