Arizona held a 32-24 halftime lead on the strength of a pressure defense that forced 13 first-half Lobo turnovers, and extended the lead to 36-26 early in the second half before UNM staged its rally to hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season. New Mexico went on a 19-6 run over a five minute span and used strong rebounding and free throw shooting to ice the game as the Wildcats could only cut the Lobos lead to 1 point, 55-54, with 4:50 remaining. Arndt scored on three consecutive possessions for the Lobos as UNM increased its lead to 61-56, and Moore knocked down nine straight free throws to give UNM its third consecutive victory. The Lobos outrebounded the much-taller Wildcats 52-35, including an astonishing 23-10 advantage on the offensive boards. Jordan Adams had 10 rebounds, including nine on the offensive side, and pitched in 21 points to register her second double-double of the season. The Lobos shot 26 of 31 from the charity stripe, and finished the game with 19 turnovers, only six of which came in the second frame. Freshman Stephanie Shaw knocked down a career-high 10 points, while Moore finished the night with 15 points and five rebounds.
