Due to the tragedy our country faced last week, the University of New Mexico has postponed the Rudy Roast until Friday, October 19, at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort. It was originally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14. The event is to raise money for UNM athletics scholarships.
The schedule will remain the same with a general reception at 6:15 p.m., and dinner and program at 7:15 p.m. CBS Sports’ Billy Packer will be the Master of Ceremonies. Other roasters include Utah head men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus, former Texas Tech head football Spike Dykes, UNM President William Gordon and Lobos’ head men’s basketball coach Fran Fraschilla. Unfortunately, Oklahoma head men’s basketball coach Kelvin Sampson and Mike Roberts, the Voice of the Lobos, will not be able to attend. The availability of New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici and former Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson are not known at this time. Additional roasters could be added.
Please call the Lobo Club at 925-5014 with any questions.
