COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Senior FB Jarrod Baxter was named Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week following the first full week of college football action. Baxter carried 25 times for a career-high 184 yards and two touchdowns in New Mexico’s 26-6 victory over UTEP. Baxter eclipsed his previous high of 135 yards set last year against Utah and surpassed the 100-yard mark for the fourth time in his career. He also had a career-long 58-yard run to set up a field goal. Baxter amassed 139 yards on 14 carries in the second half as UNM outscored UTEP 18-0 in the final two quarters.
