The UNM Athletic Department is looking for highly motivated and dedicated students with an interest in growing professionally to become a part of the UNM Athletic Department Internship Program. The program offers UNM students the opportunity to gain experience in the fields of communications, marketing, television production, ticket office and more – right here in Albuquerque.
Working with the various departments in the UNM Athletic Department is an outstanding way to build a resume and prepare for careers in athletics, public relations, marketing, television production and many more. Former interns have gone on to work for professional teams, college teams as well as in entertainment and business fields. Several interns have also been hired as full-time UNM staff after graduation when positions have become available.

LoboTV is the video production team that handles videoboard and broadcast productions for Lobo Athletics. This position works primarily on game days, including nights and weekends. This internship will provide real-world, hands-on experience in live sports production. Applicants must demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn new skills, strong communication skills, and be able to take direction and work as a team.

Creative interns will assist with graphic design and video needs for Lobo Athletics. Applicants must possess strong computer skills, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, familiarity with mirrorless cameras, strong communications skills, and the ability to work as a team. Interns will produce and edit multi-platform content to enhance the Lobo brand.

Communications interns assist in public relations efforts for Lobo Athletics and will be assigned to specific sports. Responsibilities and tasks will include but are not limited to: writing press releases, updating the official UNM Athletics website (GoLobos.com), keeping statistics at events, coordinating media interview requests, producing live statistics, and more. Interns will also have the opportunity to assist at football, men’s and women’s basketball games and other olympic sport events in a variety of roles

The marketing game day internship offers hands-on experience in Division 1 athletics marketing. Interns will assist with basic marketing operations from idea generation to execution for all sports. Interns will assist in executing marketing plans on game days and will have the opportunity to assist in running game day operations. Additional responsibilities include service as promotions assistant at table set-up and social media activation and sponsor fulfillment. Interns will also assist with grassroots marketing efforts with corporate sponsors and within the local community as well as assist with coordinating game day elements to include scheduling national anthem performers and halftime and timeout performers.

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in operational duties related to contract fulfillment, hospitality, radio & television broadcasts and to perform other tasks as required to help ensure the success of UNM Sports Properties.
