2014 (Junior Season): Played in just eight games on the season due to a thigh injury and then a hamstring injury, both of which hampered him through much of the season … averaged 29.3 yards per kickoff return on 13 returns with a 97-yard touchdown … since he didn’t play in 75% of UNM’s games, he didn’t qualify to officially lead the conference … also had nine rushes for 71 yards and two catches for 81 yards and a touchdown … was used a lot in the opener, rushing three times for 45 yards with a long of 29, catching one pass for 26 yards and returning one kickoff for 28 yards, but he left early with an injury … did return two kickoffs aginst New Mexico State before leaving with the same injury … made his first real mark on the season against San Diego State with a 45-yard touchdown reception … had a kickoff return of 20 yards against Air Force with two rushes for 23 yards, but he got knocked out of that game and missed over a month … returned for the Colorado State game with three kickoff returns for 67 yards … made his biggest impact in the final game of the season, taking a kickoff late in the third quarter 97 yards for a touchdown, his fourth career kickoff return touchdown, which tied the Mountain West record … that score was the final score in UNM’s 36-30 win in the season finale over Wyoming.
2013 (Sophomore Season): The nation’s leader in kick return yards (1,303) and returns for touchdowns (three) during the season … named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year and the College Football Performance Awards Kick Returner of the Year … also made All-America lists on SB Nation (second team), College Sports Madness (third team), Phil Steele (fourth team) and Sports Illustrated (honorable mention) … became the first Lobo to return three kickoffs for touchdowns since Lobo All-American and former NFL veteran Terance Mathis also scored three return TDs in 1989 … 29.6-yard kick return average ranked fifth in the nation … led the Mountain West and ranked 20th in the nation in all-purpose-yard average at 141.9 per game … also dabbled in rushing and receiving … had 13 carries for 237 yards and two touchdowns … third on the team in receptions with 13 for 163 yards and two scores … earned four CFPA weekly awards during the season … was the only player in the nation to have a 100-yard rushing game, a rushing touchdown, a touchdown reception and multiple kickoff returns for touchdowns … scored five touchdowns in a two-week span against UNLV and New Mexico State … a career-high 263 all-purpose yards against UNLV included 119 rushing yards and two TDs, 57 receiving yards and 87 kick return yards … had 217 all-purpose yards vs. NMSU, including a 100-yard kick return for a TD and a 33-yard touchdown reception … also had touchdowns on kick returns vs. Colorado State (100 yards) and Fresno State (89 yards).
2012 (Freshman Season): Played in all 13 games … finished the season with 18 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns … also had nine receptions for 83 yards … had two receptions for 24 yards in the season finale vs. Colorado State, including a career-long 15-yarder … carried the ball twice for 31 yards against Wyoming on Nov. 10 … had a career-long 25-yard rush in the third quarter against the Cowboys … set new career-highs in both rushing yards (34) and carries (four) against UNLV on Nov. 3 … scored the second touchdown of his career on a 5-yard run with 8:18 remaining in the third quarter against the Rebels … caught two passes for nine yards at Air Force on Oct. 20 … returned three kicks against Hawai’i on Oct. 13 for 59 yards, including a career-long 27-yard return in the second quarter … carried the ball once against the Warriors for 10 yards to set a new career-high in all purpose yards with 69 … had a 20-yard run in his only carry against New Mexico State on Sept. 22 … caught one pass against the Aggies and took it 14 yards … led the Lobos with a career-best three receptions at Texas Tech, totaling 33 yards … two carries at No. 17 Texas on Sept. 8 and made his first career reception … also returned the first three kicks of his career against the Longhorns, totaling 44 yards with a long of 25 … made his collegiate debut against Southern on Sept. 1 and scored his first career touchdown on a seven-yard run with 14:56 remaining in the fourth quarter … he finished the game with two carries for 11 yards.
High School: A versatile speedster and three-year letter winner for Plano West and coach Mike Hughes, moving from wide receiver to running back his senior season … named Texas’ District 8-5A Offensive Player of the Year … rushed for 1,366 yards with 15 TDs in 2011, stringing together five straight 100-yard games during the season … also had 20 receptions for 130 yards … in 2010, he finished with 20 receptions for 450 yards (a 22.5-yard average per catch) and 2 TDs, as well as a rushing TD and kickoff return for a TD … his high school coach said he developed into one of the team leaders who practices as hard as he plays … also ran track, a four-year letterman, for Plano West … recorded a 10.77-second 100-meter time in 2010 … ran the 200 in 21.72 seconds in 2011.
