Lobos Take on Santa Clara in Ranked Battle on Sunday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Lobos burst into the national rankings at No. 69 this past week, and now the Lobos get to test out that ranking against another ranked teams.  The Lobos will take on the No. 54 Santa Clara Broncos on Sunday at noon in Santa Clara.

The Lobos have won six straight matches and have won five Mountain West honors, including back-to-back Player of the Week awards with Arthur Bellegy and Aram Noroozian winning the awards in back-to-back weeks.  UNM had the week off last week after a sweep on the road of Wichita State (4-3) and UTSA (5-2).  Santa Clara is 7-2 and five of the seven wins have been by 4-3 scores.

Arda Azkara for UNM dropped from the national rankings in singles despite continuing to win.  Santa Clara has two in the singles rankings with Christian Lerby checking in at No. 52 and Guillaume Dalmasso is ranked No. 122.
