Lettered two years in varsity baseball under coach Steven Moller as a pitcher and outfielder … Kirchner’s junior year in the Sierra Foothill League involved multiple roles … compiled a 5.09 ERA across 11 innings with 13 strikeouts and eight walks … had one save … made three plate appearances with one hit, which was a solo home run … in his senior year, helped guide the Thunder to 14-15 overall record, second-place Sierra Foothill League finish and to round two of the CIF-Sac-Joaquin Section Division 2 playoffs … did not allow a run across three innings with three strikeouts, two walks and one save in two appearances on the mound … also competed in basketball and football, and was a two-time Scholar-Athlete recipient.
