2015-16 (Sophomore Season) 

*Went 18-21 in singles, tying for the third-most wins on the team.
*Finished the Fall on a roll, winning his last five matches.
*Went 5-1 at the ITA Mountain Regionals, including a pair of three-set wins.
*Won opening two matches of the ITA All-American Championships.
*Tied his career-best with a six-match winning streak in the Spring.
*Best singles record came at No. 2, where he went 4-1.
*Was 14-12 in doubles, including 8-4 at his normal No. 3 slot.
*Went 4-0 in doubles with Ricky Hernandez-Tong over a five-week span in the Spring.
*Named Mountain West All-Academic.

2014-15 (Freshman Season)
 
*Went 10-5 as a freshman, only competing in the Spring.
*Had a six-match win streak that spanned nearly a month.
*Was 2-1 at No. 5 singles and 8-4 at No. 6 singles and went 2-2 in Mountain West play.
*Battled Oklahoma State’s Nicolai Ferrigno to 3-3 in the third set in the NCAA Tournament’s opening round before the match was called.
*Was 3-8 in doubles play, pairing mostly with Mitch McDaniels and Rodolfo Jauregui.
*Was named Academic All-Mountain West. 

Prior to UNM
 
*A 2013 graduate of Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Jalisco in Guadalajara, Mexico.
*Was ranked in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings in both singles and doubles and is one of the top ranked juniors in Mexico.

Personal

*The son of Luis Miguel Escutia Nunez and Alejandia Saenz Arvizu.
*has three sibilings: Luis Miguel, Diego Andres and Carlos Daniel.
*When he’s not playing tennis, he enjoys watching soccer, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.
*His major is Exercise Science.
