New Mexico: In his third year on offense after playing defense his first two seasons … a 2015 Spring Camp Hard Hat winner.

2015 (Reshirt Junior Season): Saw his first game action against Mississippi Valley State, recording a pair of knockdowns … also saw action against Tulsa … overall for the season graded out at 70 percent, including a 95 percent mark on assignment.

2014 (Reshirt Sophomore Season): Did not see any game action.

2013 (Redshirt Freshman Season): Did not see any game action.

2012 (Freshman): Redshirted.

High School: One of Samuell’s best defensive players over his junior and senior seasons … first-team All-District 9-5A as a junior and second-team All-District as a senior … his coach, Steve Pierce, said offenses ran away from Allen his senior year … still finished with 60 tackles, five sacks and three tackles for loss … played in the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Game … had 67 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles his junior year … a four-year letterman in football and a three-year letterman in basketball.

Personal: Born Nov. 16, 1993 in Mesquite, Texas … son of Denise and Daniel Allen … has four brothers, Daniel Jr., Anais, Brandon and William … favorite food is his mom’s jambalaya … active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes … was a finalist for the FCA Scholar Athlete of the Year Award in Texas in 2011 … wants to study sports medicine … a believer in fate, Darian said when he was seven-years old, he dreamed that he played college football in a uniform that was red and gray – a close approximation to UNM’s cherry and silver.
