Men’s Golf Travels to South Carolina for Hootie at Bulls Bay

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team will travel east this week for the Hootie at Bulls Bay in South Carolina. The event, hosted South Carolina, at the 7,349-yard, par-72 Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw will be held Sunday to Tuesday.

The tournament will consist of one round per day. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

The Lobos, ranked No. 55 nationally by Golfstat, will compete against eight other top-70 teams in the 15-team field. No. 40 Purdue, No. 41 East Tennessee, No. 47 Missouri, No. 51 South Carolina, No. 59 NC State, No. 61 Furman, No. 62 Kent State and No. 70 Wisconsin are joined by Charleston, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, VCU, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

The Lobos are fielding a lineup of Bastien Amat, Albert Boneta, Carson Herron, Brandon Shong and Matthew Watkins.

UNM has three top-two finishes in nine events this season, including two victories. The Lobos had a victory earlier this month at the Lamkin San Diego Classic, in addition to having won the Wolf Pack Classic in October in Reno and posting a runner-up finish when hosting the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in September.
