LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The New Mexico women’s golf team opened play Monday at The Show at Spanish Trail with the first two rounds of play at Spanish Trail Club. The Lobos shot 2-under during the first 36 holes of the event to sit in fourth place among a field that features 11 teams in the top-75.

The Lobos shot 2-over during the morning’s first round, before even par in the second round. Sixth-ranked Mississippi State is the 36-hole leader at 7-over, followed by host UNLV at 6-under, Pepperdine at 3-under, New Mexico at 2-under and Nevada at even par.

Myah McDonald heads into the final round tied for the individual lead at 6-under, following rounds of 68 and 70 on Monday. Lauren Lehigh is at even par after rounds of 74 and 70, as is Jenny Lertsadwattana, who posted rounds of 71 and 73. Chloe Lauer is at 4-over through 36 holes, while Maria Caparros Levin is at 7-over. Lisa-Marie Pagliano, playing as an individual, is at 6-over through two rounds.

“Everyone played consistent and we didn’t make big numbers, which is something we have done here in the past,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “We need to conquer the par-3s tomorrow. Myah played steady and had a lot of birdies. I am proud of their fight today.”

The final round of The Show will be Tuesday at Spanish Trail Country Club. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
