New Mexico Concludes Homestand Sunday Against Nevada

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s soccer team concludes a four-game homestand on Sunday by hosting Nevada. The Lobos and Wolf Pack will kick-off at 1:00 p.m. at the UNM Soccer Complex in a game that will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.

During Sunday’s game the Lobos will be celebrating National Soccer Day. There will be soccer themed prizes given out during the game, including a grand prize of a UNM Women’s Soccer Swag Pack.

The Lobos (5-3-6, 3-1-3 MW) is unbeaten on the homestand with wins over Fresno State and UNLV and a draw against San Jose State. New Mexico is in third place in the Mountain West standings, four points out of first. Leilani Baker scored the goal in Thursday’s 1-0 win over UNLV, her team-leading third in conference play.

The Wolf Pack (3-8-3, 2-4-1 MW) are coming off a 3-0 loss at San Diego State on Thursday night. Nevada has conference wins over San Jose State and Colorado State this season. Emily Rich leads Nevada in scoring with three goals and four assists.

New Mexico leads the all-time series 9-1-2, including a 4-0-1 record in Albuquerque. The teams played a 1-1 draw in Reno last season. The teams last played at UNM in 2019, when the Lobos posted a 3-1 victory.

Next week the Lobos will visit Boise State and Utah State before returning home for the regular season finale against San Diego State on Oct. 27.
