Women's Tennis Heads to ITA Mountain Regionals in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team will take on the best of the Mountain Region as the squad heads to the ITA Mountain Regional Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted by UNLV.

New Mexico is one of 19 western teams will face off as individuals from Wednesday through Sunday on 12 courts each day in both singles and doubles at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas.

More than 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country. In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending ITA National Fall Championships.

Wednesday’s first round gets under way with Round of 64 doubles at 9:00 a.m. PT followed by a full Round of 64 singles – with two flights. There will be consolation draws in singles to ensure each entrant at least two matches.

The finals are set for Sunday.

Thursday, Oct. 13 – Second Round doubles (32), Second Round (32) and Round of 16 singles

Friday, Oct. 14 – Round of 16 and Quarterfinal Round doubles, Quarterfinal singles, Added Matches

Saturday, Oct. 15 – Semifinal doubles, Semifinal singles, Added Matches

Sunday, Oct. 16 – Doubles Final, Singles Final, Potential Added Matches
