Men’s Golf Travels to Texas for Trinity Forest Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team returns to action this week as it travels to Texas for the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU. The event at the 7,372-yard, par-72 Trinity Forest Golf Club will be held Sunday to Tuesday.

The tournament will begin Sunday with first round play starting at 8:30 a.m. CT and consists of one round per day. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

New Mexico, ranked No. 38 in the latest Golfweek rankings, is one of five top-50 teams in the field, along with No. 31 Middle Tennessee, No. 32 Baylor, No. 37 Furman and No. 44 Little Rock. Host SMU, Abilene Christian, Florida Atlantic, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, North Texas, Sam Houston, UT Arlington, UTSA and Wichita State round out the field.

The Lobos will feature a lineup of Bastien Amat, Carson Herron, Matthew Watkins, Brandon Shong and Virgilio Paz.

UNM is coming off a runner-up finish at their home event, the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate last weekend.
