Harkley Named Mountain West Track & Field Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mikyla Harkley of the University of New Mexico track & field team has been named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, announced the conference office on Wednesday morning.

Harkley earns the first weekly award of her career after winning the triple jump at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open on April 21. She reached a mark of 12.36m in the event, just .02m short of her personal best of 12.38m that she reached earlier in the season.

The Lobos will head to Standford, Calif., for the Payton Jordan Invitational on April 29, as well as Fresno, Calif., for the Fresno State Invite on April 30.
