Parsons named Mountain West Cross Country Athlete of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior Stefanie Parsons earned the Mountain West Cross Country Athlete of the Week, announced the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

In her very first race as a Lobo, Parsons finished fourth out of 192 participants with a time of 16:18.3 at the highly competitive Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 1 in South Bend, Ind. She led UNM to a second place finish out of 25 teams and 94 points at the meet. The Lobos continue to hold their ground as No. 3 on USTFCCCA’s DI National Coaches’ Poll this week.

With this week off, the Lobos are back in action at the Nuttycombe Invitational on Oct. 15 in Madison, Wis.
