We Are New Mexico Campaign Launched

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lobo Athletics represents more than just the university of New Mexico, and it’s more than just what happens on the corner of Avenida Cesar Chavez and University Blvd.  Lobo Athletics lives in the hearts of New Mexicans from every corner of the state and from all walks of life. With that in mind, Lobo Athletics has announced a new campaign put together by a cross-departmental task force.

WE ARE NEW MEXICO

The campaign, which includes multiple marks that will be rolled out across all UNM Athletic mediums including on Homecoming signs this week, was developed to reflect the pride of New Mexico and New Mexican culture.  The intention is to showcase the unique culture and history of the state of New Mexico, as well as how the Lobos’ embody that culture along with our pride in representing the state!  The campaign will be inclusive for the department, bringing together marketing, communications, ticketing, development and sponsorship elements.

Over the last four months, the campaign was developed by a committee that was able to virtually meet with donors, sponsors, season-ticket holders, coaches and staff members to build a campaign that encompasses all of Lobo Nation. The committee also collaborated with university campus marketing to create the marks of this campaign.

The launch of the We Are New Mexico campaign was timed to coincide with Homecoming 2020.  A launch video is included in this release (see above).

“New Mexicans have a great pride in the Land of Enchantment and our student-athletes, coaches and staff love to compete and represent this great state,” said Director of Athletics Eddie Nuñez. “It doesn’t matter if it’s an alum from Moriarty, a student from Hobbs, a fan from Farmington, or those of us right here in Albuquerque.  We are New Mexico, one and all.”

Fans will see a series of New Mexico-focused content that highlights our state, our students, our donors, our sponsors, our fans, and our history released regularly starting this week.  The new We Are New Mexico logos will be seen on branded content and social media.
