UNITED SOCCER COACHES OFFICIAL RELEASE

United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year. The requirements include that the entire roster must have a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better.

The Lobo squad was one of 561 women’s soccer teams across the country to earn the academic honor. UNM was also one of six schools from the Mountain West to be named to the prestigious list.

Not only is this the Lobos’ fifth-consecutive honor, it also marks the 17th time since the award’s inception that UNM has made the list.

The Lobos posted a new program-record 3.92 cumulative grade point average this past season with 14 student-athletes notching a 4.0 GPA or higher. In addition, UNM landed 22 student-athletes on the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete list.
