ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The five-match winning streak is over, but UNM has a chance to start a new one against a pair of solid opponents in Eugene, Oregon.  The Lobos will take on the Oregon Ducks on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time and then UNM will face Old Dominion in Eugene on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Lobos were finally stopped from their torrid stretch and it took the No. 18 team in the nation to do it as Texas Tech defeated UNM 4-1 in a match that could have easily been 4-3 New Mexico.  Now the Lobos will look to get back on the winning side against a 9-5 Duck team that has lost three in a row, although two of those losses were to nationally ranked teams.  Oregon lost 4-1 to No. 1 USC and 4-3 to No. 22 UCLA.

Against Old Dominion, UNM will face a team that is just as dangerous as the Monarchs are 10-2 on the season.  The Monarchs had won seven in a row until losing 4-3 to No. 24 Princeton.

The two matches will be followed by a home weekend as UNM will host Grand Canyon on Friday at 3 p.m. and then Denver on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the backend of a doubleheader with the women’s team.
