Men's Soccer Announces Spring Schedule
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team has officially announced its Spring 2018 schedule that is set to include five matches against top-level opponents. The ambitious schedule will commence on March 10 against USL professional club Phoenix Rising and conclude with San Diego State on April 22.

Not only will the Lobos face a professional squad in their spring opener on the road, but they will also take on nationally-recognized Division I opponents Denver, Air Force, UC Irvine and San Diego State.
“It will be great to open the spring against a veteran professional club,” head coach Jeremy Fishbein said. “It will afford us the opportunity to have a tremendous early test, assess where we are as a team and then gauge our progress against the following four top Division I opponents.”
The Lobos will open with the road contest against Phoenix Rising on Saturday, March 10 before returning home for a pair of back-to-back matches at Robertson Field. UNM will take on Denver at home on Saturday, March 31 at 11 a.m. followed by Air Force on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m.
UNM’s annual Alumni Game will follow on Saturday, April 14 at 11 a.m. before the Lobos finish with a pair of contests on the road on Saturday, April 21 at UC Irvine and at San Diego State on April 22.
“We’ve got a hungry group that wants to be tested this spring,” Fishbein said. “All five of our spring matches will be challenging tests. We’ve worked hard these past six weeks and this is the reward – getting to play these exciting matches.
Our team has really moved forward over the past six weeks. We will have more weapons offensively with the inclusion of our two mid-year transfers and we’re really happy that we will get to play two of our matches at home in front of our fans. I really like this group and I’m looking forward to seeing where our hard work, talent and dedication will take us.”
